University Park, IL – Residents in parts of University Park are under a boil water advisory today following a water main break that caused a significant drop in system pressure.

According to Aqua Illinois, the advisory was issued on April 30, 2026, after water pressure in the system fell below 20 PSI, raising concerns about potential contamination. The notice applies specifically to customers located at 920 and 924 Samson Drive and 506 to 549 Landau Road in University Park, located in Will County within the Chicago metro area.

Customers in the affected zone may experience low water pressure or a complete loss of service while crews work to repair the main break. Aqua officials say the advisory is a precautionary measure and not a system-wide notification.

Residents are advised to use boiled or bottled water for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and preparing food. Water should be brought to a rolling boil for at least five minutes and then cooled before use.

The advisory will remain in effect until testing confirms the water is safe and pressure levels are restored. Aqua stated it will notify customers once the boil order is lifted.
