Menomonee Falls, WI – A manufacturing facility in Waukesha County is set to lay off dozens of workers this summer, with a full shutdown planned later this year.

According to a WARN notice filed with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, MTI Electronics LLC, doing business as Virtex, will lay off 91 employees at its Menomonee Falls facility. The layoffs are scheduled to begin June 28 and continue in phases through July 12 as the company winds down operations.

The facility, located on Campbell Drive in Menomonee Falls, is expected to cease all production by October 31, 2026. Company officials indicated the phased approach is intended to support ongoing transition efforts and allow some employees to remain temporarily during the closure process.

According to the filing, employees were provided at least 60 days’ notice as required under the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act. The company stated that certain workers may remain employed beyond the initial layoff period depending on operational needs tied to the shutdown.

The notice did not specify severance details or whether affected employees will be offered relocation or reassignment opportunities. Company representatives said additional information will be communicated directly to impacted workers regarding their individual timelines.

The closure marks a significant workforce reduction in the Menomonee Falls area, located northwest of Milwaukee. Local officials have not yet announced any response measures or job placement assistance tied to the layoffs.

State workforce agencies typically provide resources such as job search assistance and retraining programs for displaced workers following WARN filings.
