Paris, NY – An early morning crash in Oneida County is under investigation after deputies discovered an abandoned vehicle along State Route 8 in the Town of Paris, just south of the Utica metro area.
According to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred around 6:15 a.m. Wednesday. Road patrol deputies were dispatched to a reported motor vehicle accident and arrived to find a vehicle partially down an embankment in a creek bed. Authorities say the operator had allegedly fled the scene before first responders arrived.
No other vehicles or individuals were located in the immediate area, and officials confirmed that no injuries were reported in connection with the crash.
Emergency crews from the Cassville Fire Department and Clinton Collision assisted at the scene. The vehicle was recovered as part of the response, and deputies began an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
