Wheaton Prepares for Traffic Impact During Monday’s Solidarity Caravan Event

Wheaton, IL – The Wheaton Police Department has issued a traffic alert for Monday, Sept. 16, due to an Immigrant Solidarity DuPage event. The event, running from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., may cause traffic delays south of downtown Wheaton. The affected area will extend from Naperville Road to the west, Liberty Drive to the north, Chase Street to the east, and Indiana Street to the south.

According to the police department, participants will park along side streets between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. They will leave in a caravan at around 9 a.m. and return at approximately 2 p.m.

Although streets will remain open, drivers may want to plan alternative routes to avoid delays. The Wheaton Police Department issued this advisory to ensure the public is aware of possible disruptions and to allow motorists to adjust their commutes accordingly.

Drivers are encouraged to stay informed about possible updates throughout the day.
