Grand Rapids, MI – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for much of central and southern Michigan from 11 p.m. Friday to 7 p.m. Saturday, bringing snow, icy conditions, and hazardous travel.
According to the National Weather Service in Grand Rapids, snowfall accumulations will range from 1 to 4 inches across affected areas. The heaviest snowfall, between 2 and 4 inches, is expected in counties including Kent, Ottawa, Muskegon, and Isabella. Further south, including Lansing and Kalamazoo, a mix of snow and ice could create dangerous road conditions.
Motorists should prepare for slippery roads and reduced visibility throughout Saturday. Authorities advise slowing down and exercising caution, particularly on untreated surfaces.
The advisory covers cities such as Grand Rapids, Lansing, Muskegon, and Battle Creek. Snowfall is expected to begin late Friday night and continue throughout Saturday, tapering off by the evening.
