Spokane, Washington – Showers and gusty winds could make Tuesday travel along I-90 messy through Spokane, but sunshine returns sharply by Wednesday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, a 30 percent chance of rain will develop after 11 a.m. Tuesday, with southwest winds between 7 and 19 mph. Snow levels will climb from 4,200 feet to 5,300 feet during the afternoon, but accumulation isn’t expected in the city. High temperatures will hover near 62°F.

Wind gusts may catch drivers off guard — especially on exposed roadways like I-90. Residents are urged to use caution, especially during afternoon commutes. If you’re headed to higher elevations, watch for slick conditions near Lookout Pass.

Tuesday night turns calm and partly cloudy with lows near 39°F, setting the stage for a dry and bright Wednesday. Temperatures will rebound to a sunny 66°F with light afternoon breezes, offering a springlike break before summer heat builds later this week.

Thursday brings a slight 20 percent chance of showers, but skies should clear again by Friday. Expect mostly sunny conditions and highs near 71°F to kick off the weekend.

  • Saturday: Partly sunny, slight chance of rain, high near 70°F
