Spokane, Washington – Triple-digit temps may not be on deck just yet, but Spokane residents should brace for rising heat and dry air by Sunday. Daytime highs climb steadily, reaching 87°F on Friday and topping out near 94°F on Sunday — the hottest day in the current stretch.
According to the National Weather Service in Spokane, Friday will begin mostly cloudy before transitioning to sun by afternoon, with calm winds turning southwest at 5–9 mph. Skies remain clear into the weekend, with Saturday’s high near 90°F and Sunday surging to 94°F. Overnight lows will hover in the high 50s to low 60s — not much relief for sensitive groups.
With bone-dry conditions and building warmth, fire danger may increase, especially along I-90 west of Spokane and near unshaded rural zones. Outdoor burning is discouraged. Residents should avoid peak-hour outdoor activity, drink water frequently, and check on neighbors without A/C. Pets and children should never be left in parked cars.
Heading into next week, the pattern holds: Monday brings another 96°F high with mostly clear skies and light winds. The earliest chance of a temperature dip comes Tuesday night, when lows may fall into the upper 50s.
Warnings remain in effect for heat-sensitive populations through Monday night.
