Washington – A cold, gray start is gripping Spokane right now, with temperatures in the 30s creating a brisk feel and the potential for isolated slick spots before conditions improve later today.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures dipped to around 30°F earlier this morning, allowing patchy frost to form in colder spots, especially in low-lying and rural areas . While widespread ice is not expected, bridges and shaded roads could briefly turn slick during the early commute.

Across Spokane, Spokane Valley, and along I-90, drivers should remain alert for isolated frost patches. Visibility remains good, but cold pavement can catch drivers off guard. Plan a few extra minutes and ease into stops.

Conditions shift quickly by midday. Sunshine breaks through and pushes highs to the upper 50s, improving travel and outdoor conditions significantly. The warming trend continues into Saturday, with highs climbing to around 64°F under partly sunny skies.

By Sunday, temperatures surge to near 73°F, bringing a noticeable spring warm-up across eastern Washington. Monday builds even warmer, reaching the mid-70s with mostly sunny skies—one of the mildest stretches so far this season.

Changes return early next week. By Tuesday afternoon, a chance of rain develops, followed by increasing shower chances into Wednesday. Roads could turn slick again after several dry days.
