
Jonesborough, TN – Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested a Johnson City man accused of shooting a woman in the foot during a late-night incident Tuesday.
According to Sheriff Keith Sexton, deputies responded to the 500 block of Rock House Road shortly after 11 p.m. for reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they found a woman who told deputies that 76-year-old Tony L. Slagle allegedly shot her in the left foot while at a residence on Bill Bennett Road. The woman also claimed Slagle fired several more rounds as she was leaving, but missed.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of her injury.
Deputies later located Slagle at his home, where he allegedly admitted to shooting the woman and firing additional shots. He was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Assault.
Slagle is being held at the Washington County Detention Center on a $75,000 bond. Authorities said he is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 5.
