Warren County – A high-speed chase on U.S. 41 ended in the arrest of Jawan Lawrence, 29, from Antioch, Tennessee. The incident began when Trooper Killin attempted to stop a speeding 2008 Ford Focus near County Road 650 North. Instead of stopping, Lawrence fled northbound, leading officers into Benton County.

Benton County deputies deployed stop sticks near State Road 18, forcing Lawrence to veer into the median, where his vehicle became stuck. He then fled on foot but was quickly apprehended. Officers also identified a female passenger and a juvenile in the vehicle, who were released at the scene.

Police discovered a firearm and a “Glock switch” in Lawrence’s possession. Further investigation revealed he had an active warrant in Lake County, Indiana. Lawrence now faces several charges, including possession of a machine gun, neglect of a dependent, and resisting law enforcement.

Trooper Killin received support from the Warren and Benton County Sheriff’s Offices and Fowler Police. Lawrence remains in custody pending legal proceedings.
