Burlington, Vermont – Outdoor plans across Vermont are in good shape this weekend, with abundant sunshine and seasonably warm temperatures on Saturday before a slight chance of showers develops Sunday, mainly across northern New York.
According to the National Weather Service in Burlington, Saturday will feature mostly sunny skies with afternoon highs ranging from 79 to 85 degrees and light south winds of 4 to 8 mph. Comfortable weather is expected across much of Vermont, including Burlington, Montpelier, St. Albans, Middlebury and St. Johnsbury.
Sunday will remain warm, with highs climbing into the lower to middle 80s, generally between 81 and 87 degrees. A 15% to 25% chance of showers is expected, primarily across northern New York, including communities near the Adirondacks such as Plattsburgh, Malone, Saranac Lake and Ticonderoga. Most of Vermont is expected to stay dry for much of the day, although skies may become partly cloudy.
Travel impacts should remain minimal through the weekend, though anyone hiking, camping or boating in northern New York should keep an eye on the sky for a brief shower or isolated rumble of thunder Sunday afternoon. South winds will increase slightly to 5 to 10 mph.
The weekend overall will provide favorable conditions for outdoor recreation across much of the North Country. The National Weather Service will continue monitoring Sunday’s isolated shower potential, with additional updates issued if rain coverage increases.
