Light snowflakes and a touch of freezing rain drift across Marquette this morning, glazing colder surfaces before temperatures climb. Thermometers sit near 23 degrees at Sawyer International Airport, with wind chills in the teens. Side streets and untreated sidewalks could turn slick through late morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Marquette, a slight chance of rain, snow showers, and brief freezing rain continues before 11 a.m. A transition to spotty snow showers follows into early afternoon. Little to no accumulation is expected, but even light icing can create slippery travel, especially on bridges along U.S. 41.

Clouds gradually thin later today with highs near 40 degrees. Melting snow may refreeze after sunset as lows dip to around 29. That freeze-thaw cycle can trigger isolated slick patches by daybreak. Use caution if heading out early.

Wednesday brings mostly sunny skies and a high near 44 degrees. Thursday turns partly sunny with highs near 38. Shower chances increase Thursday night into Friday. Showers become likely Friday afternoon with highs near 42, then continue Friday night.

Saturday keeps a chance of showers with highs near 41. Sunday trends mostly sunny and breezy with temperatures near 46, signaling early March moderation.

Clocks spring ahead at 2 a.m. Sunday, March 8. Longer daylight and a milder pattern build into early next week. The 6–10 day outlook favors above-normal temperatures across Upper Michigan.

Five Day Outlook for Marquette, Michigan:
Wednesday: Mostly sunny, high 44.
Thursday: Partly sunny, high 38.
Friday: Showers likely, high 42.
Saturday: Chance of showers, high 41.
Sunday: Mostly sunny, high 46.
