Michigan Weather Alert Now: Gaylord Sees 25° Tonight Before Showers and 50° Highs Return Friday

Cold air bites across Gaylord this morning as sunshine slowly breaks through fading clouds. Thermometers hover near 23 degrees, and wind chills sit in the teens. Frost coats rooftops, and side streets remain slick in shaded spots.

According to the National Weather Service in Gaylord, skies will gradually clear through the morning with highs reaching 39 degrees. Winds stay light, helping roads dry out by midday. Still, watch for isolated slick patches where melting refreezes. This is prime time for flash freezing when daytime thaw meets cold pavement after sunset.

Tonight drops to around 25 degrees under partly cloudy skies. That sets up a sharp rebound into midweek. Wednesday turns mostly sunny with highs near 49 degrees. Snowpack continues to shrink across Otsego County, and runoff may refreeze late at night.

Thursday brings a 30 percent chance of showers after 1 p.m. Highs top out near 42 degrees. Showers remain possible into Thursday night as lows fall to around 30. By Friday, steadier rain develops after 1 p.m. with highs near 50 degrees.

Saturday stays unsettled with a chance of showers and highs near 51. Sunday turns mostly sunny with temperatures near 49, offering a calmer finish to the weekend.
