Minneapolis, Minnesota – Chilly air and breezy winds will keep temperatures stuck in the 40s today, creating immediate impacts for outdoor plans and early morning travel after brief snowflakes moved through the region.

According to the National Weather Service Twin Cities office, light flurries early Sunday morning are ending quickly, giving way to a sunny but cool and breezy afternoon. High temperatures will reach only around 47 degrees, with winds making it feel colder at times across Minneapolis, St. Paul, and surrounding suburbs.

Wind speeds could gust high enough to affect drivers on exposed roadways like I-35 and I-94, particularly for high-profile vehicles. While no accumulation is expected from the early snow, colder pavement temperatures early in the day may still cause isolated slick spots before full clearing.

Conditions improve rapidly starting Monday, with highs climbing to around 60 degrees, followed by a sharp warm-up into the 70s Tuesday and near 80 degrees by Wednesday. Cities including Bloomington, Eden Prairie, and Maple Grove will see a quick transition from below-normal temperatures to early-summer warmth.

Residents should dress in layers today and secure loose outdoor items due to gusty winds. The rapid warm-up could also accelerate snowmelt in northern areas, leading to minor water issues in low-lying spots.

Dry weather holds through midweek before storm chances return later in the week. Additional updates will be issued if conditions change.
