Peachtree City, GA — West Georgia faces a tornado risk as storm bands from Tropical Storm Francine approach the region. Starting Thursday afternoon and continuing into early Friday morning, strong rain bands could trigger isolated brief tornadoes, especially west of I-75.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City issued the advisory on Wednesday, warning that these conditions pose a low but significant risk. According to the NWS, the most at-risk areas will experience this threat from Thursday afternoon through Friday morning. The I-75 corridor west of Atlanta may see severe storms and possible tornado activity.

Officials urge residents to stay informed and have multiple ways to receive alerts. “Conditions could change quickly, and residents should take precautions now,” the NWS added. To ensure safety, be prepared to act if warnings are issued.

West Georgia residents should closely monitor weather conditions throughout the evening and overnight hours as Francine’s outer bands move inland. Stay tuned for further updates and alerts from local officials.
