Tennessee Fugitive Captured in Will County Amid Unrelated Investigation

Wilmington, IL – Police arrested Tennessee fugitive Robert T. White in Wilmington, IL, on Tuesday during an unrelated investigation. White had an active warrant from Tennessee for probation violation and failure to register as a sex offender.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, officers discovered White’s warrant while investigating an unrelated matter. He was located walking on Water Street and taken into custody without incident. White was processed and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Center in Joliet.

In addition to the Tennessee charges, White was charged locally for being a fugitive of justice and failure to register as a sex offender. He remains in custody, awaiting extradition to Tennessee.

White’s court date is yet to be determined, and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty. Wilmington police encourage anyone with information on similar cases to contact authorities.
