Harrison Township, MI – An 80-year-old Michigan man was found unresponsive in a canal behind his home on Friday the 13th, sparking a rescue operation. Macomb County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched at 11:23 a.m. to a Bayhaven Drive residence after a report of a missing person.
Deputies quickly located the man in the canal and entered the water, bringing him to shore and starting CPR. Harrison Township Fire Department joined the efforts to save the man’s life.
Despite their attempts, the man was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities have not yet released details on how long the man had been missing or how he ended up in the canal. The investigation remains ongoing as officials seek answers.
