St. Louis, MO – A dramatic police chase in St. Louis ended with a suspect being shot after pointing a gun at officers on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the incident began around 1:00 p.m. when Anti-Crime Task Force detectives attempted to stop a stolen SUV. After successfully spiking the vehicle’s tires, two suspects bailed and fled on foot near Whittier and Maffitt. As officers pursued them, one suspect, armed with a firearm, reportedly pointed it at the pursuing officers. In response, an officer shot the suspect, who sustained injuries but was quickly apprehended.
A second suspect, also a juvenile and armed, was taken into custody without incident. Additionally, a third individual who was in the rear seat of the SUV complied with police orders and was detained without any issues.
No officers were injured during the confrontation, and the injured suspect received medical attention.
