St. Charles, IL — After 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, St. Charles Police and Fire Departments responded to a traffic crash call. They arrived at the 4000 block of Royal Fox Drive. A five-year-old child had been struck in a driveway.
When dispatchers arrived at the scene, a neighbor was performing life-saving measures on the child. Police and fire officials took over with CPR until the child was transported to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital. There, the child was pronounced deceased.
Officers identified the driver as an immediate family member. The family member was cooperative with the investigation. St. Charles police officers have not yet identified whether charges or citations would be issued. The St. Charles Police are continuing to investigate the traffic crash with the help of the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team.
