Southeast Michigan Faces Heavy Showers, Thunderstorms Saturday

Detroit, MI – Southeast Michigan is expected to experience severe weather conditions today, with a high coverage of showers and thunderstorms in the morning, transitioning to lower chances in the afternoon and evening. Residents should prepare for isolated severe storms capable of producing winds up to 60 mph. The weather will turn increasingly humid, with temperatures climbing to the mid-80s.

According to the National Weather Service Detroit/Pontiac, Saturday’s forecast indicates wet conditions early in the day, diminishing in the afternoon and evening, but isolated storms remain possible. The Storm Prediction Center maintains a marginal risk for severe weather across southeastern Michigan through tonight.

For those venturing out to Saginaw Bay, a Small Craft Advisory is in effect from 12 PM to 10 PM today. The National Weather Service warns of southwest winds between 15-20 knots with gusts reaching 25-30 knots, and waves up to 4 feet.

Sunday’s forecast brings cooler and less humid conditions, with highs ranging from the upper 60s to lower 70s. The upcoming week in Detroit will see temperatures ranging from the low 70s to 90s, with partly cloudy skies on Monday and Wednesday. Rain chances increase again by midweek, providing some relief from the heat.
