South Bend, IN – A woman is in critical condition after a shooting in downtown South Bend on Wednesday.
South Bend Police responded to a report of gunfire on the 400 block of S. Michigan Street at around 4:15 p.m. Officers arrived to find a female victim suffering from gunshot wounds. She was immediately transported to the hospital, where her condition is listed as critical.
According to South Bend Police, the shooting occurred outside the United States Bankruptcy Court building, though no evidence currently links the crime to the courthouse. Authorities report that all involved individuals have been accounted for, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
