Louisville, KY – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Southern Indiana, effective from Tuesday morning until 4:00 PM CDT.
The NWS Storm Prediction Center warns of scattered damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph and isolated large hail events up to 1.5 inches in diameter. A bowing cluster of thunderstorms moving east-southeastward poses a significant threat throughout the day.
The watch area covers approximately 35 statute miles north and south of a line from 110 miles west-northwest of Louisville, KY, to 25 miles east of Louisville. Residents in the affected areas should stay alert and prepared for severe weather. The NWS emphasizes that a Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
