North-Central Kentucky Braces for Severe Thunderstorm Watch with High Wind Risks Until 4PM

Louisville, KY – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for North-Central Kentucky, effective from Tuesday morning until 4:00 PM CDT.

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has indicated that the primary threats include scattered damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph and isolated large hail events up to 1.5 inches in diameter. A bowing cluster of thunderstorms moving east-southeastward is expected to pose significant risks throughout the day.

The watch area extends approximately 35 statute miles north and south of a line from 110 miles west-northwest of Louisville to 25 miles east of Louisville. This watch indicates that conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms in and near the watch area. Residents should remain vigilant and prepared for severe weather conditions.
