Fargo, ND – A bicyclist was seriously injured after being struck by a Ford Raptor on 40th Ave S on Tuesday morning. The driver was eastbound, turning left onto 25th St S, when the bicyclist entered the crosswalk from the west. The vehicle hit the cyclist, throwing them from the bike.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the bicyclist sustained life-threatening injuries. Sanford Ambulance transported the cyclist to a local hospital for treatment. Officials stated that the cyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. No charges have been filed against the driver.
The driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, did not sustain injuries. The North Dakota Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash to determine further details.
