Scott County, IN – Two Charlestown residents were arrested following a drive-by shooting in Scott County. Authorities report no current danger to the community.
According to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting took place overnight on September 7 in the Lexington area. Detectives interviewed two suspects, David Lewis, 47, and Savannah Edwards, 38, both of Charlestown. During their investigation, detectives determined that Lewis and Edwards fired several shots at Edwards’ former boyfriend. The victim, however, was not hit.
Police say the suspects fled the scene by car but were soon apprehended by Indiana State Police Troopers and Clark County Sheriff’s Deputies. Both Lewis and Edwards now face multiple charges, including attempted murder, criminal recklessness, and possession of marijuana.
Detectives continue to gather evidence, and additional information will follow as the investigation unfolds. Both suspects are currently held at the Scott County Jail. Authorities confirmed that the community is safe at this time.
