Illinois City, IL – A fatal crash occurred on Thursday afternoon in Illinois City, claiming one life and sending three others to the hospital. The accident took place around 12:15 p.m. near the 15300 block of 322nd Street West.
Two vehicles were involved in the collision. A passenger in one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the same vehicle was transported to UnityPoint Health-Trinity in Rock Island. The two occupants of the other vehicle were also taken to UnityPoint Health-Trinity for treatment.
According to the Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office, members of the Muscatine Police Department, Illinois City Fire Department, and Rock Island County Coroner’s Office assisted at the scene.
Authorities have not released the name of the deceased pending family notification. The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, with more details expected to emerge.
