Porter County, IN – Indiana State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred on I-94 in Porter County, leaving a Jeep Grand Cherokee with multiple bullet holes and its driver injured. The incident took place at approximately 1:20 p.m. on Thursday near the 28-mile marker eastbound, just west of the truck weigh station and east of State Road 49.
Troopers arriving at the scene discovered the Jeep parked on the right shoulder of the interstate. The driver, who was struck by gunfire, sustained a non-life-threatening injury and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Fortunately, two juveniles inside the vehicle were unharmed.
According to Indiana State Police, the Criminal Investigations Division at the Lowell Post is handling the case. They are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect or suspects involved.
