Miami, FL – A heat advisory has been issued for much of South Florida, including Miami, as the region braces for another sweltering day. With afternoon temperatures expected to feel like they’re in the triple digits, residents are urged to take precautions to stay cool and hydrated.
According to the National Weather Service Miami, the heat advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. Areas such as Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach will experience highs in the low to mid-90s, with heat indices climbing even higher. The highest rain chances will favor the Lake Okeechobee region, bringing the possibility of heavy rainfall, frequent lightning, and gusty winds in the afternoon.
The National Weather Service advises residents to drink plenty of water, seek air-conditioned spaces, and avoid outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day. Those heading outside should wear loose-fitting, light-colored clothing and take frequent breaks in the shade. Additionally, never leave children or pets unattended in vehicles, as temperatures can escalate rapidly, posing severe risks.
