Plant City, FL – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday morning outside a Plant City nightclub, leaving one person dead and prompting a road closure in the area.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched after the HCSO Communications Center received a 911 call at approximately 2:13 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2026, reporting a shooting at El Diamante nightclub, located at 3603 U.S. Highway 92.
When deputies arrived, they found a deceased individual in the roadway who had suffered a gunshot wound. Authorities have not released the identity of the victim pending notification of next of kin.
Investigators said the individual who shot the victim remained at the scene and is cooperating with detectives as the investigation continues. No arrests or charges have been announced, and authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
As detectives process the scene, the intersection of Charlie Taylor Road and East U.S. Highway 92 has been closed. Drivers are urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes until further notice.
