Hancock, ME – A 32-year-old Franklin man died after a motorcycle crash Friday afternoon in the Town of Hancock, according to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department.
According to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department, the crash was reported at approximately 3:44 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2026, after the Hancock County Regional Communications Center received a 911 call about a collision involving a motorcycle and a sedan on Route 182 (Franklin Road).
Investigators said Tyeler Grey, 32, of Franklin, was traveling north on a blue 2008 Buell motorcycle on Route 182 toward Franklin. At the same time, Harold Moore, 28, of Mariaville, was driving a silver 2025 Hyundai Sonata westbound on Coffin Road.
The preliminary investigation indicates Moore began making a left turn from Coffin Road onto Route 182 to travel southbound when the two vehicles collided.
Authorities said Moore and his two passengers were not injured in the crash. Grey suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead as a result of those injuries.
The primary investigating officer is Detective Rick Canarr, with assistance from Lt. Dakota Dupuis, Sgt. Kyle Kramer, Deputy Austin McDonald, and several state and local agencies. Crash reconstruction is being conducted by Sgt. Marcus Downes.
Additional assistance was provided by the Maine State Police, Maine Forest Service, Maine Marine Patrol, the Hancock, Franklin, Eastbrook, Sullivan, and Sorrento fire departments, along with Northern Light Ambulance Service.
The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department extended its condolences to Grey’s family and said the investigation remains active. No additional information has been released.
