Peoria, IL – Two men were hospitalized after separate shootings in Peoria late Saturday night. The Peoria Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter alert at approximately 11:02 p.m. in the 200 block of N. MacArthur, where 12 rounds were fired. Shortly after, another alert indicated two additional rounds fired in the 300 block of N. MacArthur.
As officers were en route, they were informed of a 34-year-old man who was found in the 1000 block of W. Adrian G. Hinton with a gunshot wound to his back. He was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
While investigating the shooting, officers discovered a second victim, a 23-year-old man, in the 900 block of W. Third Street. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to Peoria Police, a crime scene was located in the 200 block of N. Saratoga Street, and a discarded firearm was recovered. The incident remains under investigation, and no suspects have been identified.
