Peoria Police Arrest Man in Motor Vehicle Theft and Business Burglary

Peoria, IL – A stolen vehicle and burglary investigation led Peoria police to arrest a 41-year-old man Saturday morning.

Officers responded to a motor vehicle theft and burglary report in the 1600 block of West War Memorial Drive at 8:28 a.m. Police saw the stolen vehicle speeding on War Memorial but did not pursue it.

The vehicle stopped on Galena Road, just north of East Gardner Lane. Police approached the vehicle and arrested the driver, identified as Timothy P. Spilman, without incident.

Officers arrested Spilman for unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle, burglary, and criminal damage to property. Police also charged him with fleeing law enforcement.

Authorities transported Spilman to the Peoria County Jail following his arrest.
