Nashville, TN – Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a local chicken restaurant owner outside a Bell Road dental office.
Hwarang Joo, 39, was killed late Sunday night while seated in his Volkswagen SUV after closing his restaurant. The incident occurred in the parking lot of a shopping complex at 1350 Bell Road.
Gunfire erupted shortly before 11 p.m., striking Joo and causing his SUV to accelerate into a nearby dental office at 1315 Bell Road. According to police, the crash caused significant property damage. Joo was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators are pursuing leads but have not yet identified suspects or a motive in the case. The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department urges anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers can remain anonymous and may qualify for a reward of up to $5,000.
