According to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, a line of moderate to heavy rain showers with gusts around 25-35 mph and cloud-to-ground lightning is moving through western Pennsylvania early this morning. Areas north and east of Pittsburgh will see increased thunderstorm activity through 6 a.m. as the line moves northeast.
The forecast for today indicates an 85% chance of rain, with temperatures ranging from 71°F to 84°F. Thunderstorms are expected between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m., potentially causing flash flooding, especially in low-lying and urban areas. Drivers are advised to exercise caution due to high rainfall rates that could lead to hydroplaning.
Saturday will continue to see rainy conditions with a 55% chance of showers and temperatures between 69°F and 82°F. By Sunday, the weather will clear up, offering a sunny day with temperatures reaching up to 89°F. However, the respite will be short-lived as rain returns on Monday and Tuesday with temperatures in the upper 80s.
The 10-day forecast shows fluctuating weather patterns, with another round of showers expected mid-week on Wednesday. Air quality remains good with an index of 50, ensuring breathable conditions despite the rain.
