Harrisburg, OR – Authorities in western Oregon have identified a body recovered from the Willamette River earlier this week as a missing Junction City man whose disappearance had been under investigation since last year.

According to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 2:09 p.m. on May 19 to reports of a body found near river mile 159 along the Willamette River, north of Harrisburg.

Officials said a kayaker discovered the body along the west bank of the river and contacted authorities. Deputies and Marine Patrol personnel responded shortly afterward and recovered the remains from McCartney Park.

Investigators later identified the deceased as 62-year-old Wade Felton Lloyd of Junction City. Lloyd had previously been reported missing to the Junction City Police Department on November 20, 2025.

Authorities said investigators identified Lloyd through tattoos. The exact cause and manner of death remain under investigation, and officials have not released additional details surrounding the circumstances of his death.

Deputies confirmed that Lloyd’s next of kin have been notified.

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office stated that out of respect for the family and to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation, further information is not being released at this time.

Anyone with information related to Lloyd’s death is urged to contact Detective Ware with the Junction City Police Department and reference case number 202506989.

All investigations remain active pending additional findings from authorities.
