Ohio – Headlights barely cut through a thick gray wall as dense fog drops visibility to a quarter mile across Cleveland, creating immediate travel hazards on major routes.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, a Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 11 a.m., with visibility at or below 0.25 miles across Cuyahoga, Lake, and Geauga counties, extending into northwest Pennsylvania. Drivers along I-90, I-71, and the Shoreway are already dealing with reduced sightlines and damp pavement .

Conditions gradually improve by midday as fog lifts and skies turn partly sunny. Temperatures climb into the upper 60s, offering a brief break before the next system arrives. By late today into tonight, a few showers and isolated thunderstorms may develop, though widespread impacts remain limited at first.

The more organized round arrives Saturday. Showers and thunderstorms ramp up by morning and continue through the afternoon, with rain chances near 90%. Some storms could produce gusty winds and pockets of heavier rain, especially across Cleveland’s west and south suburbs. Plan extra time if traveling and expect wet roads through the day.

Behind the system, cooler air settles in. Sunday stays unsettled with scattered showers and highs only in the low 50s. Temperatures dip into the 30s Sunday night, raising the potential for chilly starts and patchy slick spots where moisture lingers.

A gradual warm-up returns early next week, with sunshine and highs rebounding into the upper 60s by Tuesday.
