Fort Wayne, Indiana – Drivers across northeastern Indiana could face reduced visibility and slick roads tonight as patchy fog, mist, and isolated thunderstorms move across the region—especially east of I-69.

According to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana, the most active weather will arrive overnight into early Friday, with drizzle and fog lingering through late morning. Thunderstorms are most likely east of I-69 tonight, with additional embedded storms possible Friday, primarily south of US-30.

Cities including Fort Wayne, Auburn, and Decatur may wake up to low visibility and wet roadways, complicating the Friday morning commute. Rainfall isn’t expected to be heavy, but intermittent showers could persist through midday. Patchy fog may drop visibility below a quarter-mile in some rural stretches, particularly along US-6 and SR-15.

Motorists should use caution, allow extra time for travel, and keep headlights on in low-visibility zones. Those in southern areas like Warsaw and Wabash could hear a rumble of thunder late Friday morning.

Conditions are expected to improve by Friday afternoon as fog lifts and showers taper. However, more unsettled weather is possible into the weekend.
