Northern Indiana – Hazy skies will persist over Northern Indiana through at least Wednesday as wildfire smoke remains in the air. Minimal impacts to surface air quality are expected as temperatures reach the 80s this week.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Northern Indiana, no significant rain is expected until the weekend, with the region warming up considerably. Highs will reach the mid to upper 80s, and rain chances remain uncertain due to Tropical Storm Francine’s remnants. The storm’s path could shift, affecting rain patterns across the area.

The forecast predicts haze continuing today and Wednesday, with partly cloudy skies on Thursday. Rain may develop Friday through Sunday, but NWS has low confidence in its coverage. The best chance for showers will occur along and south of U.S. Route 30.
