Arizona – A crisp mountain chill lingers in the air, and temperatures are struggling to climb early, signaling another round of cold nights even as sunshine dominates the daytime.
According to the National Weather Service in Flagstaff, highs reach only around 58 degrees today under sunny skies, with west winds increasing to 14 mph and gusts up to 21 mph. Conditions stay dry, but temperatures drop sharply after sunset, falling to around 28 degrees tonight .
Flagstaff, Bellemont, and areas along I-40 will see clear roads and good visibility, but the cold will be noticeable, especially in shaded areas. Drivers early in the morning should watch for isolated slick spots where moisture may refreeze, particularly on bridges and elevated surfaces.
Saturday brings a modest warmup with highs near 60 degrees, but another chilly night follows with lows near 33 degrees. By Sunday, temperatures rebound further into the upper 60s with mostly sunny skies, marking a gradual shift toward milder spring conditions.
The warming trend continues into early next week, with highs near 69 degrees Monday and upper 60s into Tuesday. Despite the warming afternoons, overnight lows will continue to dip into the 30s, maintaining a risk for sensitive plants.
This pattern highlights classic high-elevation spring swings across northern Arizona, where warm days and freezing nights can occur back-to-back.
