Salt Lake City, UT – Northeast Utah has been placed under an elevated fire weather risk as a cold front brings strong winds and low humidity to the area.
The National Weather Service reports that winds could reach up to 25 mph, with relative humidity levels falling into the teens and low 20s. These conditions, coupled with dry vegetation in the region, create a heightened fire danger, particularly along the Wasatch and Uinta Mountains.
NWS officials are urging residents to avoid outdoor burning and take steps to prevent unintentional fires. The combination of warm, dry air and high winds could lead to rapid fire spread in these vulnerable areas. The elevated fire risk will remain in effect through Monday evening.
