Cheyenne, WY – Fire weather warnings have been issued across parts of Wyoming as dry air and strong winds elevate the wildfire risk.
According to the National Weather Service, areas in northeast Utah and southwest Wyoming will see winds up to 25 mph, with relative humidity dropping into the low 20s. The combination of wind and dry conditions could lead to rapid fire spread, especially in areas near the Uinta and Wasatch Mountains, where downslope warming will exacerbate the drying effect.
Residents in southwest Wyoming should take precautions to avoid outdoor burning and ensure all flammable materials are safely stored. The fire warning is expected to remain in place through Monday evening, and the NWS advises the public to remain vigilant as conditions develop.
