Virginia – A powerful winter storm is set to impact the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast this weekend, bringing snow, dangerous road conditions, and subfreezing temperatures. Snowfall will begin Sunday morning in Virginia, progressing north along the I-95 corridor toward Boston by evening.

According to the National Weather Service, areas from Washington, D.C., to New England could see 3 to 6 inches of snow beginning Sunday. Travel disruptions are likely, especially on I-95, where icy conditions will create hazardous driving. Residents are advised to avoid unnecessary travel and prepare emergency kits for vehicles.

The storm will be followed by an Arctic blast Monday, dropping temperatures 15 to 25 degrees below normal. Highs across the region may struggle to reach the mid-20s, with wind chills making it feel even colder. In Boston and surrounding areas, the combination of snow and extreme cold could result in power outages.

Changes in the forecast are possible as the storm develops. Residents should stay updated by monitoring local weather channels or the National Weather Service website for the latest advisories.

Looking ahead, frigid conditions will persist through midweek. Tuesday’s forecast predicts highs near freezing with clear skies, while Wednesday may bring light snow flurries to northern New England.
