Normal, IL – A shooting in the early hours of Sunday left one person dead and another critically injured. Officers responded to a large party on the 300 block of North Main Street around 3:42 a.m. while dispersing the crowd. On the scene, officers heard gunshots and rushed to the 300 block of North University, where they found two victims struck by gunfire.
According to the Normal Police Department, officers rendered aid before the Normal Fire Department arrived. Both individuals were transported to local hospitals, where one victim was pronounced dead. The other victim remains in critical condition.
Officers secured the area and found evidence of the shooting. Investigators are actively working to gather more details on the incident. No arrests have been reported as of yet.
