Rensselaer, IN — Jasper County officials have declared a local disaster emergency due to ongoing drought conditions. The county has enacted a no-burn order effective from September 17th through September 24th, 2024.
According to the Jasper County Board of Commissioners, the decision follows recommendations from local fire chiefs. The order applies to the entire county, including the city of Rensselaer. All forms of open burning, including the use of fireworks, are prohibited.
