Albany, NY – A winter storm warning is in effect from 4 p.m. Saturday to 1 a.m. Monday for the southern Adirondacks, Upper Hudson Valley, and Lake George-Saratoga region. The storm is expected to bring up to 10 inches of snow, sleet, and ice accumulations, making travel hazardous.
According to the National Weather Service, snowfall rates could reach up to one inch per hour from Saturday night into Sunday morning. Ice accumulations of up to 0.15 inches are also possible. Winds will increase Sunday night into Monday, with gusts of 30-40 mph, potentially causing power outages due to ice-covered trees.
Travel conditions will deteriorate, especially on bridges and overpasses. Authorities urge residents to slow down, use caution, and keep emergency supplies in their vehicles.
