Albuquerque, NM – A cold start today continues as temperatures hover near 40°F under sunny skies. Roads remain slick after recent snow, especially in shaded areas, urging drivers to use caution.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Albuquerque, Saturday will bring warmer temperatures nearing 48°F in Albuquerque with gusty winds up to 50 mph in some areas. Residents in the northeast plains and along the Sangre de Cristo foothills should prepare for challenging driving conditions due to strong winds.

Looking ahead, snow chances return late Saturday night into Sunday for the northern mountains and parts of central New Mexico. A light dusting is expected, but any accumulation could create icy patches on roadways, particularly on I-25 and I-40 in higher elevations.

Sunday’s high temperatures will drop to the low 40s in Albuquerque, with overnight lows in the teens. Winds will ease Sunday night, but drivers should remain alert for icy conditions into Monday morning.

For the upcoming week, temperatures will remain below average with highs around 45°F and lows dipping into the 20s. Monday and Tuesday are forecasted to be sunny, offering a brief break before another system may approach midweek.
