New Mexico State Police Arrest Santa Fe Teens in Connection with Vehicle Shooting

Santa Fe, NM — Two Santa Fe teenagers were arrested Saturday in connection with a vehicle shooting that left a 16-year-old injured. New Mexico State Police (NMSP) Investigations Bureau responded to a call on the 6300 block of Entrada De Milagro, where the juvenile victim sustained a gunshot wound around 2:00 p.m.

According to NMSP, the shooting unfolded after the victim, along with two others, noticed a red vehicle following them. The driver and passenger, both 17, allegedly fired at the victim’s vehicle near the intersection of NM-599 and Horizon Lane. The wounded juvenile was later treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a nearby hospital.

Both suspects were apprehended and are being held at the Farmington Juvenile Detention Center. Charges including aggravated battery and possession of a stolen firearm have been filed.

The incident remains under investigation by the NMSP Investigations Bureau.
