Manchester Township, NJ – A New York man has been charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder in connection with the October 2024 death of Kuldeep Kumar, 35, whose body was discovered in the Greenwood Wildlife Management Area.

According to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer, Sandeep Kumar, 34, of South Ozone Park, New York, was arrested Wednesday and remains in custody pending a detention hearing. Kumar is accused of acting alongside four Indiana men already charged in the case: Sourav Kumar, 23; Gaurav Singh, 27; Nirmal Singh, 30; and Gurdeep Singh, 22, all of Greenwood, Indiana.

The investigation began after Kuldeep Kumar was reported missing in October 2024. His body, discovered December 14 in a state of advanced decomposition, was later identified through FBI assistance. The Ocean County Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide caused by multiple gunshot wounds.

The four Indiana suspects were apprehended in December and are awaiting extradition to New Jersey. Prosecutor Billhimer commended the collaboration of local, state, and federal law enforcement in the case, which involved agencies across multiple jurisdictions.

Authorities emphasize that charges are accusations, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
