Lebanon, NH – A 90-year-old Enfield woman is in critical condition following a wrong-way crash Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 89 in Lebanon.
According to New Hampshire State Police, the crash happened around 1:24 p.m. near Exit 18. Kathleen Ford, 90, was reportedly driving a Buick Lucerne southbound in the northbound lanes when she collided head-on with a VW Atlas SUV driven by Jennifer Pivovar, 67, of Randolph Center, Vermont.
The impact caused the SUV to strike a third vehicle, a Hyundai Sonata driven by 24-year-old Erin O’Connor of Warner.
Ford was transported to a hospital in critical condition. Pivovar and O’Connor were also taken to a hospital for evaluation, authorities said.
The northbound lanes of I-89 were closed for about an hour. One lane was reopened during the investigation, with full reopening shortly after.
Multiple agencies, including Lebanon Fire and Police Departments and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, assisted at the scene.
No charges have been filed, and the crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to contact Trooper Peter Kosakowski at 603-223-3831 or Peter.C.Kosakowski@dos.nh.gov.
