New Hampshire Moose on Route 16 Leads to Severe Dump Truck Accident

Errol, NH – Two truck drivers were injured after a moose caused a head-on collision involving two commercial dump trucks in Errol.

State Troopers responded to the crash around 6:37 a.m. on Wednesday near Androscoggin Wayside Park on Route 16. According to authorities, Justin Hallee, 38, of Milan, struck a moose that had wandered onto the roadway. Hallee lost control of his truck after the impact and collided with another dump truck approaching from the opposite lane.

The driver of the second truck, Jacob Gleason, 22, of Colebrook, was medically cleared at the scene. Hallee was transported to Androscoggin Valley Hospital in critical condition.

The New Hampshire State Police, along with the Errol Fire Department and Department of Environmental Services, assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation, and anyone with information is urged to contact Trooper Brandon Girardi.
